My name is Alice McConnell and I recently graduated from San Domenico Upper School with a 4.0 unweighted GPA. There I took Geometry, Precalculus Honors, AP Calculus BC, and Multivariable Calculus and also received the Science Department Award.

Having self-studied Algebra II over the summer of 2021, I understand the complications that can accompany unconventional learning particularly in the aftermath of the pandemic. Often times the barriers to student learning lie in basic concepts that were lost in translation and are hindering advancement in more complex topics. My goal in running this business during my gap year is to help students reach their full potential and most importantly gain confidence in the world of math.

I have worked very hard in math and bring unique perspective on specific challenges facing students today. I encourage students to take a methodical approach to problem solving and to categorize problems by concept. It is important to always ask “What skill is this problem assessing?” in order to avoid feeling overwhelmed. With attentive instruction and personalized notes after each session, I can help your child identify their unique challenges and give them the tools to tackle difficult problems with confidence.
